Kazakhstan Customer Uses One QTY6-15 Line to Produce Wood-Grain Pavers and Slope Protection Blocks

Country: Kazakhstan
Machine: QTY6-15 Simplified Production Line
Customized Products: Wood-grain pavers and slope protection blocks
Customer Type: Construction contractor and concrete product manufacturer

This customer mainly works on residential landscaping, courtyard paving, road slopes, and water-protection projects. In the past, the wood-grain pavers and slope protection blocks required for these projects were purchased from outside suppliers. As the number of projects increased, however, outsourced supply became harder to coordinate with construction schedules.

The texture, color, and dimensions of wood-grain pavers did not always match the design requirements. Slope protection blocks were more difficult to source because of their special shapes, and urgent replenishment was often slow. When several projects started at the same time, delayed deliveries and differences between product batches could lead to higher transport costs, work stoppages, or rework.

The customer therefore decided to build an in-house production capability and take greater control of these important project materials.

One Production Line for Two Types of Projects

The customer did not want to purchase separate machines for wood-grain pavers and slope protection blocks. What the business needed was one flexible machine that could switch products according to the project schedule.

Based on the customer’s order volume, workshop, workforce, and investment plan, HS configured:

One QTY6-15 simplified production line with a customized wood-grain paver mold and a customized slope protection block mold.

The QTY6-15 provides enough capacity for batch supply to medium-sized projects without creating the pallet, curing-space, raw-material, and inventory pressure associated with a much larger plant.

Before a landscaping or courtyard project begins, the customer can produce wood-grain pavers in batches. When a road, riverbank, or slope project requires protection blocks, the mold can be changed and production rescheduled.

One main machine now supports two areas of the customer’s business. This avoids repeated investment in separate mixers, conveyors, and forming equipment, while improving overall machine utilization.

Customized Molds Solve More Than a Product-Shape Problem

Wood-grain pavers and slope protection blocks have very different production requirements.

For wood-grain pavers, the customer cares about clear surface texture, complete edges, and the overall appearance after installation. If the texture is unclear or damaged during demolding, the product may not be suitable for landscaping projects even when the dimensions are correct.

Slope protection blocks place more emphasis on structural dimensions, hole positions, and fitting accuracy. If the product shape is inconsistent, installation can become difficult and the construction schedule may be affected.

HS therefore designed the molds separately according to the customer’s product dimensions, appearance requirements, and intended applications. The mold box, pressure head, and demolding clearance were matched to the QTY6-15 main machine.

The customer did not simply receive two standard molds. The customer received a production solution designed to turn project product drawings into repeatable batch production.

Production Can Now Follow the Customer’s Own Project Schedule

After bringing production in-house, the customer no longer has to depend entirely on a supplier’s production schedule.

Products can be made and cured before a project starts. If additional materials are needed during construction, the factory can arrange another production batch according to actual site consumption.

This gives the customer more control over:

  • Product specifications and appearance

  • Production and delivery dates

  • Consistency between batches

  • Urgent replenishment

  • The overall construction schedule

For a contractor, the real value is not simply producing more blocks. It is reducing work stoppages and rework caused by late deliveries or incorrect specifications.

Wood-grain pavers and slope protection blocks are also not ordinary low-price, high-volume products. When purchasing them externally, the customer previously had to pay customized-product prices, transport charges, and urgent replenishment costs.

With an in-house line, the customer can supply their own projects and also sell these products to other contractors. This allows part of the margin previously paid to outside suppliers to remain within the customer’s own project and concrete-product business.

A Simplified Line Makes Product Switching More Flexible

The customer’s production follows project batches rather than one product being manufactured all year. For this reason, a complete automatic curing and cubing system was not necessary at the current stage.

The simplified line connects the processes that directly affect product quality and production rhythm, including material feeding, distribution, hydraulic vibration forming, and pallet conveying.

Green-product transfer, curing, and finished-product organization continue to use the customer’s existing workers, forklifts, and available space.

This configuration controls the initial investment and also suits the different pallet layouts, handling methods, and stacking requirements of wood-grain pavers and slope protection blocks.

As order volumes grow, the customer can add new molds, cubing equipment, or other automation without replacing the current production system or rebuilding the whole factory.

Training Covered Product Changeovers, Not Just Machine Startup

After purchasing two customized molds, one of the customer’s main concerns was whether the local operators could switch products independently after the HS engineers left the site.

For that reason, installation and training covered more than basic machine startup and shutdown.

The customer’s team took part in local raw-material testing, mold removal and installation, position adjustment, material-distribution changes, parameter setting, and sample inspection.

HS engineers and the customer’s operators adjusted the process according to the wood-grain texture, block edges, slope-block structure, and demolding results until both products could be produced consistently.

After training, the local team was able to handle:

  • Mold changes between the two products

  • Feeding and forming adjustments

  • Basic evaluation of the concrete mix

  • Checks for texture, dimensions, hole positions, and edges

  • Daily cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance

This means the customer can now organize production according to project orders without waiting for outside technicians every time the product changes.

The Customer Gained Greater Control Over Project Delivery

The main value of the QTY6-15 line is not simply that the customer owns more equipment or can produce more units.

Previously, product specifications, prices, and delivery schedules were largely controlled by outside suppliers. Now the customer can decide what to produce, when to produce it, and how production should match the construction schedule.

One production line with two customized molds has reduced dependence on external suppliers and created the ability to serve both landscaping and engineering-protection projects.

For other contractors working on landscaping, slope protection, or municipal projects, the important lesson is not only which machine this customer purchased. It is how a flexible and expandable production system can improve delivery control, reduce rework, and make more customized project orders possible.
