From Small-Scale Production to Reliable Supply:

A Cameroon Customer’s QTY9-15 Block Production Line

This Cameroon customer already had access to construction projects and building-material sales channels, supplying concrete blocks to local contractors, housing projects, and material distributors.

As orders for houses, boundary walls, warehouses, and paving projects increased, the customer’s smaller equipment gradually became unable to keep up. When order volumes were low, longer working hours were sometimes enough. But once several orders arrived together, limited output, unstable manual feeding, and differences between production batches began to affect delivery.

The customer needed to expand production, but did not want to build a complex and expensive fully automatic plant immediately.

This was the customer’s first cooperation with HS. During the early discussions, the main concern was not which configuration was the most advanced. The customer wanted to know whether the line could complete current orders reliably, whether local workers could operate it, and whether maintenance would remain manageable.

Why the Customer Chose the QTY9-15

The customer did not continue using a small or medium-sized machine because the factory was no longer dealing only with occasional orders.

Hollow blocks were already one of the customer’s main products and needed to be supplied regularly to contractors and building-material distributors. With a smaller machine, it was difficult to prepare stock in advance. Whenever several projects required blocks at the same time, the factory was forced into continuous rush production.

The QTY9-15 provides production capacity better suited to regional bulk supply. Compared with smaller machines, it offers a larger forming area and higher output per cycle, helping shorten production time and leaving room for future sales growth.

By changing molds, the same machine can also produce hollow blocks, solid bricks, and paving blocks. The customer therefore does not need separate machines for every product and can adjust production according to housing, boundary wall, and paving orders.

For this customer, choosing the QTY9-15 was not about expanding blindly. It was about avoiding another capacity shortage soon after upgrading the factory.

Connecting the Processes That Directly Affect Output

To help the QTY9-15 reach its practical production capacity, HS configured the main processes for batching, mixing, conveying, feeding, material distribution, forming, and block discharge.

If these stages still depended mainly on manual work, the main machine would often have to wait for material. Differences in workers’ batching and feeding methods could also affect the condition of each production batch.

With the new line, materials are mixed and delivered to the main machine at a steadier pace, reducing production delays. Once material distribution and forming are controlled by the equipment, block dimensions, hole patterns, and compaction are also easier to keep consistent.

The customer did not add a complete automatic system for green-block transfer, curing, and finished-product handling. These tasks could still be completed using the existing workforce and forklifts, without adding a large amount of auxiliary equipment simply to remove all manual work.

This configuration matched the customer’s current production conditions:

Why the Line Uses a Conventional Vibration System

The customer mainly produces standard hollow blocks, solid bricks, and common paving products. For these products, the most important factors are stable forming quality, reliable daily output, controlled production costs, and timely delivery.

After discussing the product requirements, HS configured the line with a conventional vibration system instead of servo vibration.

This does not mean that the machine lacks vibration capability or that normal material distribution, compaction, and demolding are affected. The customer still receives the QTY9-15’s large forming platform, strong machine structure, and commercial production capacity. The line simply does not include an advanced control module that would not yet bring a clear commercial return for the customer’s current products.

For the customer, the performance of the complete production line mattered more than adding one premium function.

The budget could therefore be used more effectively for the mixer, conveying system, molds, pallets, and other supporting equipment, ensuring that the main machine’s actual output would not be restricted by weaker upstream or downstream processes.

The conventional vibration system is also more straightforward to operate and maintain. Local workers can learn it more quickly, while routine inspection and fault diagnosis remain relatively simple, reducing training pressure during the early stage of production.

The Factory Is Already Producing Hollow Blocks Consistently

The production site shows that the line has already entered actual operation.

Freshly formed hollow blocks are arranged neatly on pallets, with relatively complete hole patterns and consistent dimensions. Several batches of green blocks can be seen in the curing area, while cured finished products are stacked nearby. This indicates that the customer is organizing continuous production for real orders rather than carrying out only short test runs.

The site uses pallets to carry the fresh blocks, which are then moved to the curing area by workers or transfer equipment. This method fits the customer’s existing workforce and factory layout without requiring major changes to the site logistics.

For the customer, the most noticeable improvement is not simply that a larger machine has been installed. Production planning has become more manageable.

Previously, the factory had to rush after each order arrived. Now the customer can increase regular output, prepare stock of common hollow block sizes, and serve both internal projects and external buyers more confidently.

For a First Cooperation, HS Focused on Helping the Customer Use the Equipment Successfully

Because this was the customer’s first purchase from HS, support after delivery was just as important as the machine configuration.

During the pre-sales stage, HS reviewed the customer’s main products, expected order volume, existing site, workforce, and budget before confirming the production-line solution. The customer was not simply pushed toward a higher configuration.

During equipment manufacturing and delivery, HS provided guidance on site preparation, line layout, and installation requirements, allowing the customer to prepare the workshop, power supply, raw materials, and operators in advance.

After the equipment arrived, technicians assisted with installation and commissioning and trained the local team in:

  • Machine operation

  • Raw-material proportioning

  • Forming-parameter adjustment

  • Mold use

  • Daily cleaning

  • Basic maintenance

For an overseas customer working with HS for the first time, completing the installation is not the end of the project.

What matters is whether the machine can enter stable production, whether local workers can operate it independently, and whether technical guidance and spare-parts support remain available when questions arise about material ratios, demolding, or maintenance.

This continued support was an important reason the customer was satisfied with the cooperation.

Choosing a Production Line That Matches the Products and Orders

The customer did not continue using an undersized machine simply to reduce investment. At the same time, the factory did not purchase every premium automation option during its first cooperation with HS.

The customer selected the output and expansion potential of the QTY9-15, while using a conventional vibration system suited to the current product range. Existing workers and forklifts continue to handle the later production stages.

As a result, the line improves hollow block output and product consistency while keeping operation, maintenance, and initial investment within a manageable range.

As product requirements, order volumes, or labor costs change, the customer can still add new molds or upgrade the back-end equipment.

For the factory’s current stage, however, the most important goal has already been achieved:

Producing more qualified hollow blocks consistently and completing growing customer orders on time.
