As Orders Grew, He Did Not Build a Fully Automatic Plant Right Away. He First Increased the Capacity That Mattered

This Mozambique customer was already involved in construction projects and building-material supply.

He was not short of market demand. As more housing, boundary wall, commercial building, and road-paving projects came in, the volume of concrete products he needed to supply kept increasing.

The real problem was that his previous small equipment and outsourced supply model could no longer keep up with project schedules.

When producing in-house, output was too low, and even overtime was not enough for concentrated orders. When buying from other factories, it was difficult to control delivery time, product specifications, and quality at the same time.

The customer gradually realized that continuing with the old setup would not only limit future orders, but could also affect projects and customers he had already secured.

He needed more production capacity, but he did not want to build a complex and expensive fully automatic plant in one step.

He Needed the Output of a QTY10-15, Not a Factory with No Work

When the customer first discussed the project with HS, his priorities were clear.

The front-end production process had to become more stable.

Raw materials needed to move into mixing and forming at a steady pace, rather than leaving the main machine waiting. Product size and appearance also needed to be more consistent, instead of depending too heavily on the experience of individual workers.

However, for green-block transfer, curing, and finished-product handling, the customer already had workers and forklifts that could continue doing the job.

Under these conditions, adding a complete automatic curing, cubing, and packaging system would not have created the same immediate return. It would only have increased the initial investment, workshop modification, and maintenance complexity.

HS therefore configured a QTY10-15 simplified production line for the customer.

The line connects batching, mixing, conveying, feeding, material distribution, and forming. In other words, it stabilizes the processes that directly affect output and product quality. The later stages, including transfer and curing, continue to use the customer’s existing workers and forklifts.

For the customer, this was more practical.

The budget was spent on main-machine capacity and production stability, while automation that was not yet necessary could be added later as the business grew.

Why He Did Not Continue with a Small or Medium-Sized Machine

The customer chose the QTY10-15 because smaller equipment could no longer support his current orders.

As more projects came in, he no longer needed a machine that could occasionally produce a few batches. He needed a production line that could supply construction sites and building-material channels continuously.

A machine that is too small means longer production hours and little room to prepare stock in advance. When several projects need products at the same time, the factory is always rushing to catch up.

The QTY10-15 gives the customer higher output per cycle and makes it possible to gradually move from “producing only after an order arrives” to “preparing stock for regular products in advance.”

This gives the customer more control over deliveries for housing, boundary wall, commercial building, and paving projects.

The Production Site Shows That the Line Is Already Handling Real Orders

The site photos show that the QTY10-15 production line has been installed and put into operation.

Raw materials are conveyed into the main machine, and the freshly formed products come out neatly arranged on pallets. The rectangular bricks shown in the photos have complete edges and relatively smooth surfaces, indicating that the feeding and forming conditions have already become stable.

The customer is also not limited to one product.

By changing molds, the same line can produce different concrete blocks, solid bricks, and paving products. This is important for a customer serving both construction projects and the building-material market.

Project requirements are not always the same. Being able to switch products on one production line means the customer does not need to buy separate machines for every order and is less likely to lose business because of a limited product range.

The site also retains enough space for workers and vehicles, showing that the production arrangement was adapted to the customer’s existing factory conditions rather than forcing a fixed layout into the site.

A Simplified Line Did Not Make Production “Simple.” It Made the Factory Easier to Manage

The customer did not install complete back-end automation, but the main production processes now operate as a connected flow.

Previously, worker experience, feeding speed, and team coordination could directly affect production. Now the materials move from mixing and conveying into forming more consistently, making the production rhythm easier to control.

This solved several practical problems:

  • The main machine spends less time waiting for material

  • Product condition is more consistent between batches

  • Workers spend less time on repetitive feeding

  • Production no longer depends entirely on a few experienced operators

At the same time, the customer can continue using local workers for transfer and curing, without suddenly adding too many complex systems or technical positions.

This does not mean the line lacks automation. It means the level of automation better matches the customer’s current orders, labor costs, and management capability.

HS Helped the Customer Get the Line Running Before Discussing the Next Upgrade

Before confirming the solution, HS reviewed the customer’s products, orders, site, workforce, and budget to determine the machine configuration and line layout.

After the equipment arrived, HS technicians assisted with installation, commissioning, and operator training. They also adjusted production parameters according to the customer’s local materials, helping the team produce products with stable shape and density.

For the customer, this support was more useful than simply receiving an equipment manual.

How to prepare the mix during the first startup, what to check when demolding is not ideal, which parts require daily cleaning and maintenance, and how to recover quickly from minor operating issues all directly affect whether the factory can complete orders on time.

The site photos of the customer, operators, and technical personnel together also show that the project did not end when the equipment was delivered. The local team had already joined the production process, while HS personnel completed practical handover and training on site.

The customer needed exactly this result: not only an installed machine, but a machine that local workers could continue operating.

But we did not need every part of the factory to be fully automatic at this stage. Upgrade the Parts That Actually Affect Your Orders First

This customer did not choose the most heavily equipped solution, but he also did not continue using a machine that could no longer keep up.

He chose a production line between those two extremes, one that better matched the real situation of his business.

It provides enough output for bulk orders without adding unnecessary investment in automation that is not yet needed. It improves product consistency while preserving the flexibility of the existing workforce and factory logistics.

In the future, if orders continue to grow or labor costs rise, the customer can add curing, cubing, or packaging equipment to the existing line.

But at the current stage, the QTY10-15 simplified production line has already solved the most important problem:

It allows the factory to produce steadily and turn growing demand into orders it can actually deliver.
